Tot mijn grote vreugde merk ik dat er momenteel heel wat groepen rondlopen die pure onversneden rauwe thrash spelen. Thrash zoals die in de jaren '80 gemaakt werd. Vergeet Trivium en konsoorten! Soms moet je wat moeite doen om deze groepen te vinden, maar via MySpace is een hoop moois te ontdekken. Zo ook dit Fallen Angels uit Seattle. Huh, grunge is dood, leve thrash! Na twee demo's te hebben opgenomen is deze acht nummers tellende schijf uitgebracht op 'Metal on Metal'. Bezoek maar eens de webpage http://www.metal-on-metal.com , daar kan je enkele pure undergroundgroepen vinden die het waard zijn om uit te checken. Fallen Angels speelt geen crossover thrash, maar leunt muzikaal vooral aan bij de oude Slayer, terwijl de vocalen meer richting Dark Angel uitgaan. Een prima mix dus voor een portie heftig beukwerk. De productie is tevens erg rauw en klinkt nogal '80's. Ik kan begrijpen dat sommigen hier zullen op afknappen, maar voor mij klinkt dit perfect. Een oude Opel Manta gaat men toch ook niet volsteken met High-Tech snufjes! Tenslotte wil ik nog een pluim geven aan http://www.jowita-kaminska.com voor het schitterende artwork. Goed bezig!

To my great joy I see that there are currently many bands that walk around play pure raw uncut thrash. Thrash such as that which was created in the '80s. Forget Trivium and co. Sometimes you have to make some effort to find these groups, but through MySpace there are a lot of wonderful things to discover. Such is the case with Fallen Angels from Seattle. Huh, grunge is dead, long live thrash! After two demos they have recorded these eight songs album released on Metal On Metal. Visit the website www.metal-on-metal.com, because you can find there some pure underground bands that are worth checking out. Fallen Angels play no crossover thrash, but with musical leanings especially towards the old Slayer, while the vocals are more in the Dark Angel's vein. So an excellent mix for a portion of violent thrashing. The production is also very raw and sounds rather '80s. I can understand that some people will snap off here, but for me it sounds perfect. An old Opel Manta does not really work with hi-tech gadgets either! Finally, I would like to give credit to www.jowita-kaminska.com for the beautiful artwork. Good job!
