PROMETHIUM

In the UK bands often perform acoustic for certain fests and then the usual set gets a little facelift. Promethium was also asked to perform acoustic a while back on a festival. Singer Steve and guitar player Dan put their shoulder under this one en it worked out wonderfully. The many positive reactions made it continue and it even led to this acoustic album. The ones who know Promethium from their other albums are in for a little surprise, for here there are no heavy shredding guitars to be found. No, on "Revisions" some off the songs from the repertoire got a complete make over. A lot more calm and layed back than we are used to, but oh so beautiful. The main role is for singer Steve, what a voice! That he could handle slower or calmer songs we knew from "Shellshock" on the "Faces of war" album, which is also represented on this album. But what he delivers here is really amazing, such emotions, hat's off to you sir! All of this supported by Daniel's acoustic guitar, it makes "Revisions" something different but so enjoyable. Unbelievable how certain heavy tunes transformed so perfect to these serene acoustic songs. On the song "Visions" there are even female guest vocals. Hannah Morris in a duet with Steve is one hell of a successful combination. The acoustic project even led to an own new song "Crashing down pt2: Reflections". But the best was saved for last, the cherry on top, the acoustic rework of "Son's revenge" one off the bands first songs ever! Very enjoyable through the headphones and especially in the dark, also ideal if you have visitors who aren't so into heavy music! The heavy metal troubadours succeeded very well in their first (?) acoustic cd. Hopefully this gets a follow up somewhere in the future!
