STIGMA

Monday, 06 September 2010 in Interviews, 13 hits
Some time ago the Italian band Stigma released their second album "Concerto for the undead". Horror, humor and technique were the three key words that stayed in mind after multiple listeningsessions. We sent out some questions to the band and vocalist Vlad was the one who provided us with the answers!

We had an interview with you...

MOROWE

Monday, 16 August 2010 in Interviews, 47 hits
Some time ago the Polish threesome Morowe released their debut album on Witching Hour. In my humble opinion a rather awkward and chaotic piece of art, which needed some time to open up its qualities. Guitar player Hans tried to give some more information on this album and answered the questions we send him through e-mail.

First of...

PLUTONIUM ORANGE

Monday, 16 August 2010 in Interviews, 37 hits
You know exactly what to do if you listen to an album called "Volume": play it loud! That's what Finnish Plutonium Orange preaches on their debut full of melodic and metallic rock 'n' roll. Drummer Pasi helped us out with the ins and outs of his band.

The band was formed in 2000, that means it took 10...

SORROWFUL ANGELS

Monday, 16 August 2010 in Interviews, 64 hits
Thanks to the power of the internet and especially myspace I got to know a lot of great bands. Amongst them is this dark gothic metal formation Sorrowful Angels from Greece, who with their debut album "Ship in your trip" left a big impression on me. So reason enough to ask the guys some questions and make the people over here get to know this superb band. Singer / frontman Dion had this to say:

Can you for starters tell us something more...

INNERWISH

Monday, 16 August 2010 in Interviews, 139 hits
The Greek metallers of InnerWish are back with their third cd, without a doubt their best work to date! Off course we were eager to talk with the band about their latest masterpiece. Bassplayer Antonis gladly answered our questions!

Well I see you guys have...

PREACHER STONE

Monday, 16 August 2010 in Interviews, 50 hits
There aren't a lot of southern rock bands who reach the European continent these days. It made us twice as happy when the debut album of Preacher Stone from Charlotte, North Carolina, fell on our Hell Spawn Headquarters door mat. And extra happy when vocalist Ronnie Riddle and guitarist Marty Hill were willing to answer some of our questions. Let's rawk!

Preacher Stone's just formed...

ALCATRAZ METALFEST 2010

Monday, 28 June 2010 in Interviews, 200 hits

OLD SEASON

Monday, 28 June 2010 in Interviews, 125 hits
There is still an awful lot of unsigned talent out there. Recently we came across Old Season, an Irish band who pays tribute to their Celtic roots with powerful epic metal. They just released their first full length "Archaic creation" and it's quite an adventurous piece of art. Time to get acquainted...

First question is pretty obvious: how did Old...

EMPIRES OF EDEN

Monday, 28 June 2010 in Interviews, 114 hits
Computers can be very handy, but at times a nightmare! Take this interview, accidently saved in a wrong file while changing to a new pc and it got lost until this weekend! We thought this interview was to good to be simply deleted and with the bands new cd coming out in july, it's some kind of extra promotion. And for those who don't know the band, they might get interested or see this as an introduction to a fine and nice project!

Well for starters Stu, can you introduce...

EREB ALTOR

Monday, 28 June 2010 in Interviews, 116 hits
Crister Olsson and Daniel Bryntse (of Isole fame) play under the names of Ragnar and Mats in another band. A band in which they pay honest homage to viking and epic doom metal. It's called Ereb Altor and they've just released their second album "The End". Excellent opportunity to send some questions over. Enjoy!

The story goes that the concept of Ereb Altor is...

FALLEN MAN

Friday, 07 May 2010 in Interviews, 199 hits
Fallen Man is a band we discovered last year, we at Hell Spawn were pretty much impressed by the music of these guys! We sended out some questions to main man Mike, who was more than eager to introduce his band to the European metalheads!

Well first off, probably not that many people over...

WHILE HEAVEN WEPT

Monday, 01 March 2010 in Interviews, 297 hits
In its 20 years existence , we haven't had tons of releases from While Heaven Wept. Again it took a few years to deliver a follow up to the mythical "Of empires forlorn". "Vast oceans lachrymose" takes us on an even more complex journey. So there's quite some catching up to do with mainman Tom Phillips.

As mentioned above, the wait was quite long...

IN MOURNING

Monday, 01 March 2010 in Interviews, 274 hits
I was pretty impressed by the new In Mourning cd, I was also fond of their first one, but in my opinion this one is a big step forward. Hopefully it will help the popularity of the band. We were able to ask a couple of questions. Pierre and Björn took care of the answers.

Maybe first off for the...

SAVAGE BLADE

Friday, 22 January 2010 in Interviews, 416 hits
There are many who try to revive the eighties metal, there aren't many who succeed to create the same sound and vibe. Canadian Savage Blade actually does! Their debut "We Are The Hammer" hits the mark hard. Bass player Chris Rand is the one who gets us acquainted with his band.

Well for starters, can you give a little...

VEINS ICED OVER

Friday, 22 January 2010 in Interviews, 375 hits
Our last album of the month in 2009 went to Veins Iced Over from Tampa, Florida. Being totally impressed by the guys debut cd "The awakening", we gladly interviewed one of the founding members Voz! Check it out...

Well guys, for starters...

IGNITOR

Friday, 22 January 2010 in Interviews, 281 hits
US Metal addicts will already have encountered the name Ignitor. When you all read that they're back with a new album and especially a new vocalist, being Jason McMaster, then it will ring a bell for everybody. So gather round and read what Pat and Batlord have more to tell.

Biggest change compared to...

SPIRITUS MORTIS

Monday, 14 December 2009 in Interviews, 276 hits
The opening song of their new album says it all : "Forever going, never stopping, never surrendering". Perfectly describes the longest lasting doom metal band from Finland. Hear "The god behind the god"! Behold Spiritus Mortis!

Third full album, third label. How much bad luck can...

CROWN THE LOST

Monday, 14 December 2009 in Interviews, 269 hits
After their self financed first album (2009), Crown The lost returned this summer with a successor through Italian based Cruz Del Sur. That follow up is called "Blind Faith Loyalty" and is a big step forward. We had a talk a talk with guitarplayer David E. Gehlke.

Well for starters the band rose out of the...

OLIVER WEERS

Friday, 20 November 2009 in Interviews, 261 hits
Idol and other X Factors are modern day platforms for new talent, especially because there are little other tv shows left with or about music. Even more rare are rock musicians coming from those formats. It are the exceptions who make the rule and here's one for ya! Oliver Weers with the melodic metal album "Get ready", his debut under his own name. Get ready for an introduction.

Danish X Factor got...

SILENT MEMORIAL

Sunday, 15 November 2009 in Interviews, 268 hits
Around august this Swiss band released their second album "Retrospective" and a little while after that also a re-release of their debut cd saw the light of day! We had a nice chat with keyboardplayer Chris, who was more than eager to introduce his band to us.

Well seeing this is the first time we interview...
